A Ruby Recruit Update!
As I write this there is without doubt a little sparkle of the future, our freedoms returning, and summer is on the way. I ask myself has this most recent Auckland lockdown affected me, of course is the answer, but if I’m being really honest from a business owners’ perspective, I feel very fortunate. Why, because Auckland, its people, their efforts, energy, and positivity in their respective businesses and lives has meant you have been busy (and I will acknowledge retail, hospitality, and tourism here doing it tough, I know you’ll bounce back), and Ruby is busy, and continues to go from strength to strength, and for that we are extremely grateful.
So today we are taking the opportunity to tell you what we have been up to during lockdown at Ruby Recruit. In my HR and people world, hiring intentions are as high as I’ve seen in recent times, and across the range of skills and experience too, senior leadership and ‘Head of” roles, Business Partners, Advisors, Talent Acquisition and beyond. In summary the human resources hiring market is ripe, so if you have great people, continue to look after them!
Ruby’s other half, Paul has been kept busy with some really unique roles, these have included a Chief Medical Officer, and General Manager roles in the healthcare sector, a Head of Operations and a Director roles in the Education Sector, a CIO role, and a GM in the world of Digital Marketing to name a few.
So, in a nutshell, lockdown has provided us with the opportunity to get a really good handle on the current active (and passive) talent in the market, and its fair to say the talent pool is shrinking, nervousness around career moves in uncertain times, closed borders and a genuine talent shortage are all contributing factors that keep us on our toes here at Ruby.
Please don’t forget if you’d like to talk to us about anything within Human Resources recruitment, or leadership, technical, and those ‘hard to fill’ that Paul specialises in, drop us a line at kelly@rubyrecruit.co.nz or paul@rubyrecruit.co.nz we are always thrilled to hear from you.
Stay safe, stay well!
Kelly and Paul George
